Can you be an audiophile if you don't own "great/expensive" equipment..?

This is a posting I made elesware sometime back and about sums up my feelings about the subject.

Maybe it's just me but, I find that I can't sit and just listen to this disc. Nothing wrong with the recording or selection of tunes but I find it just...well boring is the best way I can describe it. IMO it could have been so much more with a few good backing jazz improvisationalists. The cut 'Cry Me A River' is enjoyable but more so for the tune itself than anything else.

I don't know what the objective was in bringing this one out but to me it is not much more than something to put on in the background and then you would ask yourself "Why bother in the first place?".

This one is headed for the good old "trade bin".
