    Hi again,

have to revise my own post. I didn't know the 33RPM record I compared the 45 with was treated/tuned, so that it sounded much better (however that works). After comparing two normal versions 33/45RPM, I recognized the typical 45RPM improvements ate the 45RPM over the 33 RPM in that comparison.

Sorry, someone else must help here, as on CD I only listen to music not available as LP...

Music Matters 33RPM or AP45 RPM. Maybe a matter of Taste dependent on each track which you prefer, but both are better than any other and I also have CR 33 Mono, 33 Stereo, Clarity 45 and single disc Autumn Leaves 45 as well as the old Connaisseur 33

Hm, the Music Matters version is sadly not listed on Musik-Sammler but I was able to find it for 46€ after a quick search. So it's a matter of 33RPM (46€) vs. 45RPM (55€). From an article I once read, 45RPM should be better in terms of sound, but maybe that was due to mastering.

Just remember the MM 33 is mono, the AP 45 is stereo.

I think the MM 33 is stereo. Blue Train is mono.

This has become a no-brainer for this one: it's the Music Matters 33 rpm recent reissue.
Blows away all others. In my opinion.
It's stereo. Which is good, because van Gelder recorded the sessions in stereo.

Oops, my mistake. Must've been thinking Blue Train.

However, wasn't there a recent hi-rez release of Something Else that was mono...? Perhaps that's what I was thinking of as well.

The Music Matters 33RPM and the AP45RPM LPs are very expensive these days (not that they ever were cheap I think)...

Would anyone have a good "budget but great" recommended pressing?

I have the King "Immortal Masterpiece Selection" release, bought from the once-legendary Sun Shingla. :hide: UFB sound and as clean as a master tape.

Not to be cheeky but the other options are going to be based off recent digital transfers. To stay within your budget you may consider grabbing the source material from HD Tracks, and skipping the vinyl route.

I have RVG stereo and mono originals , as well as the Music Matters 33. I listen to my MM the most and the High Res when I can't listen at home.

    fair play...
you think these will be based off digital transfer as well tho? Cannonball Adderley - Somethin' Else »
seems to say "newly remastered from original analogue tapes"...

Yes the 75th anniversary editions were sourced from new high res transfers. This has been confirmed publicly by BN head Don Was in his interview w Michael Fremer. Now sometimes it may sound better if you have a better analog rig than digital, but its the same high res source.
The US copies were done at United and are really poorly made. EU pressings fare better.

If you really love this LP it may be better to bite the bullet and pay the extra for the Music Matters copy now, as I imagine it will only escalate in value.

How does the MM (2014) compare with bluenote (2008)? Which one was better in your system?

I haven't heard or bought any domestic Blue Note Reissues from the last 40 years or so. The Music Matters is the real deal, grab one if you can.

There is a 1973 Blue Note Pressing (black b) that sounds phenomenal. It can be acquired for less than $20, NM. It's the one with the orange and yellow jacket. I've compared it to the Music Matters and like it very much for the more natural and better sounding Miles and Cannonball, especially on Autumn Leaves. Drums/cymbals etc. come out better on the MM but the horns on the Blue Note are much sweeter!
