would you say that the it is warm sounding? does t have more bass than other cartridges? compares to the grado 8mZ ? thank you.
the grado 8mz was too warm and bass heavy for my system FYI.

No comparison to a Grado. Has bass, not too much. I don't need much bass. It a very dynamic cartridge and I would do it all over again.

Where did you get it from? I'm very intrigued by this cartridge.

Thanks for bringing up the ART9. I would have never even considered it.

Cool...curious to hear your thoughts. I have the Zephyr MIMC (not star) and am in love. Close to considering a cart for my other table though.

I look forward to your impressions. I too am currently running an OC9-II and see the ART9 as a nice upgrade.

It has attributes of the OC9II. Just a heck of a lot smoother and very detail oriented. Makes you want to relive all your records.

His choice is a very good one from some sound advise and many reviews. I have 2 myself.

Not to thread jack, but it seems like avanati has resolved his question...

My local hi-fi store is pushing the Sumiko Blackbird on me... decent cart?

Awesome. Best of luck with it.

Love to hear what you have to say about it once you get it installed and broken in!

Great choice, you'll love it, my money would have gone
on a Cartridge Man Music Maker - astonishing mid range detail,
better than my Lyra Clavis DC

It has a shibata stylus (which you were looking for) and is not etched in the high end as the ART9 is (and yes I have heard recordings done with an Art9)

Huh? How am I threadcrapping, because he chose a cart all discussion is mute? What happens if he gets it home and is less than thrilled....do I need to run it by you before I respond?

Excuse my ignorance but does "etched" mean boosted or rolled off? Or neither?

Let the guy be happy with his decision. If he feels he's made a mistake, he'll check back in, I'm sure.

And you can't really tell a lot from needledrops. Too many variables.
