Catwoman...as bad as I keep hearing?

I really wasn't optimistic about this anyway, but I hear it's poopoo. Anyone see it?

 

The reviews are suggesting that it is one big cinematic piece of doo doo. I love Halle Berry and the costume looks sexy, but I think I will wait and rent the DVD instead.

I somewhere read something where it said Halle Berry was a strange Oscar winner (not Oscar Wiener): one that hasn't had any hit since she won the Award. Gothika was a critical bomb, and apparently, Catwoman is another one. She was a supporting player on X-2, even though she was billed next to to Hugh Jackman...

Maybe people aren't just comfy with thinking about a Catwoman without a Batman. I know I am.

 

And she has announced she's not returning as Storm in X-Men 3, which I am not too happy about....

I'll check out the DVD (just because it's Halle Berry y'know) but I didn't think Catwoman
could carry a film without the Batguy.

 

With leather and whips it can't be all bad. Looks like a fetish piece.

 

Just having Sharon Stone in it made me not wanna see it. She's the female equivalent of Judge Reinhold for me!

 

Haven't seen it, but critics are coughing up hairballs all over it.

Maybe I'm in the minority (or just not a leater fetishist), but I find the costume pretty stupid looking, and a good indication that the film won't be much better. Now, as for Swordfish, another pretty dumb movie, but definitely made for the Pause button.

IMHO, I don't think Berry is a good actress at all. It's not something most anyone can do, mind you.

 

She did? That's sad... I don't think her part was too big on X-2, but whenever we get a sequel, I expect the original cast to be in it

 

Ditto for me. The mask in particular is laughably inept.

 

Looks like the reviews killed it. 3rd place, $17 Million.

 

Actually, Storm is the only character that could be recast in XMen 3 without me giving a whit.

 

I understand, Michael - I also think she didn't add anything to the movie. But somehow, when the entire cast is back it gives IMHO the feeling of continuity to every project.

 

I've seen it. It's definitely poo. Weak script, weak acting, little character development, unreal looking FX. Should NOT have come out right after the far superior Spiderman 2.

 

...there's only one Catwoman.....Julie Newmar.

 

Not to dis, but she(Sharon Stone) really is box office poison. Has she made another good movie after Basic Instinct??? Hey Javier, not all of Halle's post Oscar movies have been flops. You forgot about "Die Another Day".

FWIW Roger Ebert said the only three good things about the movie are all about Halle Berry - her face, her body and her costume. There ain't nothing wrong with that.

 

Must be my "Love That Bob" days...Julie was always a sexy woman, especially to a pre-teenager!
