I had a pair a few years ago. Owned them for a 24hrs. I bought them as part of a package deal. I had no space for them so sold them. Tweeters were blown but fixable.

Truly beautiful speakers. If I had the room I would have kept them for sure. I actually thought of keeping them just for looks! I love that grill design.

The Warfdales look very similar to the Dynaco's I have and your description is pretty much what the Dynaco's look like :)

Sonus-Faber speakers are one of the most beautiful speakers out there. I had only seen pictures of them but I went to my first hi-fi show a few years ago and of course one room had them.

Love the look of a lot of the older Yamahas

There were a pair of really old Japanese speakers on Audiogon a few months ago that were probably the most beautiful I've seen. I think the post mentioned that they were used in radio/studio applications. I should have saved that picture.

The fit, finish and attention to detail of anything made by Volti Audio is just superb IMO.

Yes! I wanted to see and near them and then if I liked that experience borrow a pair for my own space.

If I couldn't test and see them they are an absolute no go regardless of their apparent beauty.

    Bummer!

The Vivid Audio speakers look very appealing to me also, particularly the smaller model that looks like female anatomy.

But, in general, I just like being impressed by sheer size. When I've seen the Wilson WHAM, Infinity Reference System (IRS), big Genesis, Duntech or Dunlavy, I just knew they would be extremely exciting speakers to personally experience.

Maybe one of each could be a very exciting match, at least visually, to entice personal exploration and involvement.

I like the Sonus Faber Stradivarius and Guarneri Memento, the original Quad 57s and Raidho X-1.

I was thinking along similar lines, but I'm reminded of an alien carrot monster from some silly 50's scifi movie. I can't recall the title.
