No argument from me. I had a pair many years ago. I still keep a pair of AR-6's and AR-2a's around. I don't use either pair of speakers but I just like the looks of them.

How I wish there was a N.W. showroom for this extremely esoteric marque ... I doubt I'll ever have the $$$$$ required, but, if I win a big lottery or something, an OMA pre/amp combo and those speakers pictured above (what, $30k?) might be purchased to help outfit my Dwell magazine pad ... Their aesthetic is amazing.

Couldn't agree more. And their manufacturing and business aesthetic is also quite admirable. Have you read the story? I'm hoping to get a visit in when visiting family in the area this holiday season.

Seattle could possibly support a NW location ya know.

I'm sad to report that my brother recently moved and wound up unloading his gorgeous McIntosh XR-290 loudspeakers that were featured in an earlier thread.

Most people who see them ask if they are doors but I grin from ear to ear every time I look at, and listen to, my CLSes.

The most holographic speaker i gave ever owned however even with subs they were never suitable for Rock. On Jazz and acoustic music they were the best. Probably should never have dold them.

I like the look of the Avalon speakers that are shaped like the Eidolon (Isis does not look as elegant). They also offer a good selection of finishes.

Stood in line to audition the IRS at a Chicago CES show back in the seventies. They played the famous 1812 Overture with the real cannon (this was pre-digital LP). It was the first time I felt my shirt sleeve flapping due to the sonic boom.

Some of the speakers mentioned in this thread are here:

A couple of down to Earth, affordable, elegant wall mounted or table speakers were the Jamo Art.
I couldn't find a pic that did them justice, but this was an interesting image:

These were my first pair of "real" speakers, Rocket RS-250's in Macassar Ebony. I always thought they were attractive looking speakers and better yet, so did my wife. They sounded pretty good, too. I ended up selling them for good price shortly before AV123 went down in infamy.

I just want to say, I dig that tube amp. There's nothing like a VU meter!
