Daphnis and Chloe-Ravel, favourite version?

    The genius of this piece is in the layers of it. It's the stuff in the background which appears as if behind a screen in places which makes it truly psychedelic. Ravel didn't use this effect this extreme in any of his other pieces (although the orchestral 'Ma Mere L'Oye' also has it).

    With the Suite No. 2 as well as the incredible 'Daybreak' sequence you get those just stunning modal woodwind lines at 5.58 point. There no distance between this and 'Kind Of Blue' etc.
