These are the kind of details of Bowie's life away from music that I find particularly interesting. Was he a good cook? what football team did he support? Did he put his trousers on one leg at a time? You don't tend to find this stuff in the biographies.
The Let’s Dance Live Vancouver 83 b-side on the Let’s Dance Demo Record Store release sounds much better than a dvd rip, I believe the Serious Moonlight Live album will follow suit with that release, mixed by Bob Clearmountain.
I am reading closely; it's you that's isn't and thus confusing things. @scobb asked if the DVD had the interviews that the VHS contained. He was referring to Serious Moonlight, not Glass Spider [which never contained any interviews]. I have also asked you, on more than one occasion in this thread , to elaborate on your claim that the new CD of Moonlight has superior audio to the DVD release. I don't doubt that it has but I do doubt that you have evidence as previous claims by yourself on new Bowie releases have not materialized: Bowie LET’S DANCE Deluxe Edition NEW David Bowie album: Blackstar (January 8, 2016)
I've just had a quick look round Wonderworld - fan hang out with a lot of knowledgeable members - and no one seems to know. Suspect he wasn't that interested. Elton John would probably know...
He did get in to American Football when he was at school but apparently that was mainly because he liked the outfit..... Bowie's old friend: 'He's the same guy I went to school with' - CNN
I bought that Montreal 1983 double cd that's on Amazon the other day to see if I really did dislike the SM tour as much as I thought. I still don't think it was a good tour. The arrangements are quite boring. I was really impressed by TVC15 though. Fresh and different. Off topic - I was at the Beckenham Oddity festival yesterday. It was a lovely sunny day, and I was really trying to transport myself mentally back to 1969, lying in the grass in an alcoholic haze. It was a beautiful thing, thanks to Wendy Faulkner etc for their efforts. Visconti and Woody graciously turned up to give support. The only downer from me was there was no Cygnet Committee. We got Jean Genie and Ziggy three times by different artists instead. Someone did a great Valentine's Day though.
Memory Of A £10 Festival. I remember getting Tony & Woody to sign my Brooklyn Boy book, and getting my photo taken with Woody putting his hand on my shoulder. That was the hand that played drums on Aladdin Sane!!! The second part of my memory was having a 24 hour hangover on Sunday. Next on my bucket list is to have a pizza in Zizzi's (formerly The Three Tuns).
Good to hear Visconti didn't have a loss of energy to make an appearance. Did they let him anywhere near the bass controls of the mixing desk?
“There’s a brand new dance, but I prefer a game. Of that badass badminton, again and again”. Beep beep
For a guy who admits he doesn't remember s**t it's a bloody miracle he did remember how in 1977 Low was meant to sound
Played LD and NLMD a lot over last few weeks...all fine. Just listened to Tonight for first time in years. Tempted to cancel boxset now.
