25 years or so, radio used to play album tracks besides just the "hit". Name some you haven't heard in a good while that occasionally come back to mind and you think, "wow, I haven't heard that in a long time!" Here's a few:

"City to City" - Gerry Rafferty
"Day After Day (The Show Must Go On)" - Alan Parsons Project
    "The Sad Cafe" - Eagles
    "Holiday" Nazareth
"Wouldn't It Be Good" Nik Kershaw (early 80's)
    "Who's Behind The Door" Zebra
    "I'm Mandy, Fly Me" 10cc
    "Both Ends Burning" Roxy Music
    "Night In The City" ELO
    "Champagne Jam" ARS

I could do this a while...and I'll probably come back and add some.

BTO's Blue Collar. Sadly, just a sampling of what Randy Bachman was capable of that was never to be repeated.

From around the same period, as those...

    13 Questions - Seatrain

Evil Woman - Crow (not the Santana song - this is more an obscure AM hit than an album cut)

    Get It On - Chase

    One Fine Morning - Lighthouse

    "Dialogues (Pt. I and II)" and "I'm A Man"-Chicago
    "Home and Dry"-Gerry Rafferty
"I'll Turn To Stone"-The Four Tops
    "Connie-O"-The 4 Seasons
    "The Happening"-The Supremes

Admittedly, I think these were all singles, either edited A-sides or B-sides, but you never hear them on the radio anymore, do you?

Sad that there is virtually nothing out on CD by these guys...

Three studio albums, one greatest hits package, and one solo by David Wagner and nothing in print today.

I do have the "Evil Woman-The Best of Crow" Cd that was released by KTel in '92. Decent sound and very nice 8 page booklet. Must have been somebody's labor of love...I'm sure it didn't move many copies.

Assuming we're discussing artists that otherwise get played a lot, I chose the following songs that are as good as anything the artist released, but for some reason don't get the attention they deserve, though they may not be obscure by any means:

The Cars - "It's All I Can Do" (from CANDY O)

Fleetwood Mac - "One More Night" (from LIVE)

Marvin Gaye - "Anger" (from HERE, MY DEAR)

Led Zeppelin - "Gallows Pole" (from III)

Rolling Stones - "Dead Flowers" (from STICKY FINGERS)

Paul Simon - "Duncan" (from PAUL SIMON)

Bruce Springsteen - "Local Hero" (from BETTER DAYS)

Talking Heads - "This Must Be the Place (Naive Melody)" from SPEAKING IN TONGUES

The Who - "Young Man Blues" (from LIVE AT LEEDS)

I swear Duncan hasn't gotten any airplay in this market since 1972.

Too good of a song to be forgotten.
