I ordered several Cat Stevens cds from DD. It wasn't until after I ordered that I saw that 2 of the cds were cds on demand cdrs! It does say this but in very small print. It was too late to cancel my order. At least if they are going to do this they should have all of their on demand cdrs in a seperate section and not mixed in with the regular cds.

Importcds is also doing this now. Be careful when you order a cd!

Two Cat Stevens cds that I ordered were cdrs. I thought I was ordering the actual cd. I'm guessing they're doing this too for other cds that are out print.

The titles of the Cat Stevens cds? Back To Earth and Izitso.

  7. This has now been going on for a couple of years. It's not the retailers' fault labels refuse to keep these older catalog albums in print on pressed CDs.

But if it's not clearly indicated as such, it seems kinda misleading. If you paid fifteen bucks for a rare CD and it turned out to be worth three cents for all the materials combined you'd probably be upset. You're right - it's not the retailer's fault... but I think a lot of people would prefer that they just say "we don't have it" than make a "fake" version. I know I would.

In fact, DeepDiscount is owned by AEC One Stop Group.

You may as well just buy the downloads from 7-digital or something.

The retailer should have tagging language to the effect of "On Demand". They can explain the details elsewhere.

The CD-Rs on Demand come from AEC One Stop, and these can even be ordered by brick and mortar record stores that use AEC as their distributor.
