    Enjoy it.

Play "Deserted Cities Of The Heart" first. Crank it way up and when the guitar solo comes in, see if your stereo can take it!

Can't wait! I don't have any version of this one, so I'm new to maybe 1/2 the tracks ;)

Well, as advertised "Deserted Cities..." really shakes the beaks on the Totems. That guitar solo is way up in the mix. Still they were up to the task. I can't remember the last time I listened to that album; the next time will be very soon. Gonna spin the live side next. It's amazing.
    Thanks Steve!
    Best-

Here's the one I won a couple weeks ago. Got last week and it's truly great! :edthumbs:

    eBay auction I won!

I emailed the seller to ask if it had the 3 hidden bonus tracks on disc 1. She didn't get back to me before auction end, so I took a chance and placed my bid. After I won it, she finally replied and said she just checked and it DID have the bonus tracks!!! :edthumbs:

Disc 1 is slightly beat up but plays perfectly. Disc 2 is immaculate and all the inserts were perfect. Even still in original shrinkwrap opened at one end!

And yes, Deserted Cities Of The Heart is a mindblower! Heard stuff on there I never heard. Went back to the box set and WOW: Night & Day difference.

    Thanks SH! :nauga:

    Cool

Can't wait to get ahold of this one.

Sure hope the B&W's will handle Deserted Cities Of The Heart

Note to self: make sure girlfriend is out of the house before trying this..

To cheer myself up I pulled out my copy of the DCC "Wheels Of Fire" CD. Hadn't played it in about 7 years. I also pulled out the 15 pages of mastering notes I made. Wow. A lot of work, but I'm still happy with the finished product.

I tried "Deserted Cities Of The Heart" and cranked it way the hell up. Wow, when that middle part comes in the entire house rattled. Heh, just like I like it!

Notice that "Passing The Time" is way longer? Boy did we get **** for splicing back all of that middle part that was edited out before the original release. Heh, just making friends everywhere.

Also note the little extra stuff at the beginning of "Spoonful". I found that after the end leader, figured out which song it belonged to and spliced it back in. Whee...

I hope all of you can find a copy of this title.

Yeah, funny. I don't usually "blast", but on this one song it's a must...

I picked up a used copy cheap! The only flaw is a gouge taken out of the slipcase. Mine doesn't have the bonus tracks - but I don't care - don't need em!

Speaking of "Spoonful", can anyone tell me what the heck Jack's singing? I cannot figure out the lyrics...

"?" fast food made of coffee...

"?" fast food made of gold...

    Huh???

Is there any way to tell if a sealed copy has the bonus tracks? I've seen this one around for $45.00.

    Thanks!

They might fill spoons full of diamonds
Might fill spoons full of gold
Just a little spoon of your precious love
    Satisfy my soul

    People you're a-liein' about it
Goin' around and cryin about it
    Everything's a-liein' about it
    Everything's a-fightin' about it
A little old spoonful, spoonful, spoonful

Might fill spoons full of coffee
    Fill spoons full of tea
Just a little spoon of your precious love
    Good enough for me

    You're a-liein' about
    Goin' round cryin'
Fightin' and diein' about a spoon
    Everything is a-liein' about it
    Spoonful, spoonful, spoonful

Might fill spoons full of water
Save them from the desert sands
Was a little spoon of lead from my .45

I love Steve's work on this album. Isn't this the one that got McCartney's notice which helped DCC get to do his solo stuff?

If memory serves me correctly. The US pressing (with hidden tracks) seems to have the 24K Gold sticker on the shrink. I went through several copies (my sickness) until I found the correct pressing. I still have a sealed Japanese version (bonus tracks or not, still a killer). If anyone's interested I'd be willing to sell it....

If there are any users in Berlin, Germany - there's a sealed copy of this in the World Of Music behind the Swissotel on the Ku'damm...(or, at least, there was the last two times I went there, the last being a few months back). Look in the Box Set section!

Thanks Norm! I printed them out and will follow along next time I listen. :edthumbs:

Man, but I was wayyyy off. :D

Not quite as bad as my wife though...with her rendition of AC/DC's "Dirty Knees, Done Dirt Cheap".
