I recently acquired a nice mint minus copy of the White Album, Uk stereo top loader with all the goodies and the "sold in U.K...." language.

Vinyl looked good--no marks, etc. I cleaned it with my orbitrac and then with Last regular cleaner (not Power Cleaner).

Problem? Lots of crackle and hiss coming out of thr right speaker only. left channel is dead quiet.

Never had this problem before. What gives? HELP!!

Sounds like it's been played with a bad stylus. Not good... :(

Yep, it sounds like the result of a bad antiskating setting on a prior owner's table/arm. Seems like groove damage, unfortunately ...

If the stylus is riding on the groove incorrectly, or if the stylus is worn, it will scrape against the walls as it's playing.

I just found an original pressing of the Moddy's "Days Of Future Passed", and although it's light, it's the same thing. Left channel is noisy. I paid all of $1 to hear the original mix of the album again. No biggie, but I feel your pain!
