Guys, heres what i dont understand......for the Belden 89207 cable, it has three wires, a copper, a silver and a braid.

How do i connect those to an RCA connector? do both silver and copper go to the signal and the braid to ground? Or is there a different way to make a balanced connector?

The 89207 is twinax cable which means that it won't have a drain wire for the shield as it is intended for crimp connectors. If you're committed to it, pick one conductor as your signal and connect it to the pin on your RCAs (I assume we're talking unbalanced). Connect the other conductor to your grounds. Finally you'll have to draw out some of the braid and, without allowing any of it to touch bare signal conductor, solder it to the ground on the preamp end of the interconnect.

Using 8451 will make your life much easier as it has a foil shield with a drain wire- eliminating having to draw out the braid. As long as you're not going to be moving the wire around a lot or bending it too sharply, you won't need the braided shield anyway.
