    Tom Baker, hands-down.

Chris DeVoe RIP Vickie Mapes Williams (aka Equipoise)

I had been a Tom Baker fan, but looking back, the episodes are just not as re-watchable as the newer ones, so I've moved to Matt Smith.

If you'd asked me in the eighties, Tom Baker. Now it's David Tennant. He's been the best actor on the show IMO and has had some of the best stories.

Tom Baker, but every once in a while I saw a rerun of a Pertwee era show and loved them when they did

Yes. About that. We would appreciate a little heads up next time that you have your friends over. Wouldn't mind tidying up a bit.

I'm seeing a shades of "The Castles Of Dr Creep" and "Lode Runner's Rescue" in that game.

After seeing The Night of the Doctor, I wish I'd seen more of Paul McGann playing Doctor Who. He could potentially have been one of the greats.

  17. Anyone watch the special 50th year episode tonight? It was a nice surprise to see a former Doctor show up in a cameo...

Yeah, slightly surprised there isn't more discussion about this*. Watched it with my 11 year old son. We both loved it. My son kept saying "this is amazing, don't delete this whatever you do", which was nice as he didn't really watch much of the last series.
I'd need to watch it again, but I was impressed that it wasn't overly sentimental or overly CGI'd like some of the big stories. I think they got a really nice balance between the elements of the story and it wasn't over the top, which isn't always the case. Good job BBC,(and I'm glad I watched the prequel with Paul McGann and would recommend it before watching The Day of The Doctor).

    * found another thread.

Baker - but I always thought Pertwee had some of the best stories.

As a kid I was glued to the screen when Tom Baker was The Doctor. As a rule I was terrified by the endings when (in hindsight) rubber-suited monsters blundered their way through carboard sets....
I like the madness of Christopher Eccleston (who gets very little credits or airtime these days and wasn't present at the little ''reunion'', what's going on there?). Some of the best writing and inventions (the kids with the gasmasks, the weeping angels) were during the come-back season, I think.

For me, back in the day it was Tom Baker. However, he has been surpassed by both Chris Eccleston and David Tennant in the modern era.

I'm not a fan of Matt Smith, and look forward to seeing what Peter Capaldi brings to the table.

I'm only a casual Doctor Who fan, if that makes any difference.

The interesting thing about this 'favorite Doctor' thing is that despite our different choices, we all have a commonality in our like for the series. Same as if we were stating our favorite album from a group that we all like.

Doctor Who is a great series that has stood the test of time.

Not a Dr. Who fan. That being said, back in the '80s, I always had to set up our VCR to tape Dr. Who for my sister. During this time, they always showed the Tom Baker episodes. Watched a few, but didn't 'get' it.

Whenever I think of Dr. Who, I always think of Tom Baker.
