Elton John's singing makes me feel actually sick to my stomach. He's the only voice that does it to me. Anybody else have this kind of physical reaction to the sound of someone's voice?

Cyndi Lauper. She had some great songs in the eighties, but her voice just sounds like fingernails on a chalkboard to me.

Grant Life is a rock, but the radio rolled me!

I really can't think of many because they are not in my collection! I'm not criticizing their music or their singing ability, just what affect their voices have on my mental and physical being:

    Celine Dion #1
    Michael Bolton
The Judds (I have literally walked out of stores that had them playing)
very twangy sounding male country singers
    Pavorrotti
    Geddy Lee

Although I can respect Rush's musical talent ...Getty Lee's voice immeidately comes to mind!

  7. Celine's voice actually makes my ear hurt. She needs to dial it back a notch or two. Macy Gray is another one that makes my ears hurt.

Grant I agree with your Geedy Lee choice. And Paul I agree with your comment of Rush's great talent. Bu that voice ::shake:

For me it is Natilie Merchant. Although I don't own any of her recordings, when I hear her voice on the radio, I have to switch her off.

Chalk up another one who cannot tolerate Geddy Lee. Or Celine Dion.

The singer from The Cure also gives me the chills.

When my wife is in the listening room, I am instructed to avoid her sickening singers........ Neil Young and Ian Anderson.

For me, they don't exactly make me sick, but they DO make me wince:

    Stevie Nicks
    Whitney Houston
    Mariah Carey :hurl:
    Claudine "Bang Bang" Longet
...and just about any other female singer that sings in a high pitch
    Bob Dylan
    Tom Petty
    Michael Bolton
    Rod Stewart
    Bob Seger
Chris Montez (if he would have sung those slower songs in tune, I wouldn't mind his singing voice)
    Wayne Newton

Geddy Lee doesn't bother me, but I DO call him "helium head"! :D

Actually, Michael Jackson completely repulses me anymore. A shame, too, considering how much I liked Off The Wall and Thriller. :(
