I'm not denying it could be taken for sounding like Paul; Paul and John are always being mistaken for each other. Someone on these pages has repeatedly told me John is double-tracked on I Want to Hold Your hand and that I need to learn the differences in their voices or upgrade my sound system.

Yeah, a lot of people also mistakenly think that Paul does the falsetto bit on 'Hand', something disproved by their Ed Sullivan appearance where John's mic is faulty/too quiet.

Try telling that to some people! they won't have it! "Paul always sings higher than John!" Yeah, explain I Want to Hold Your hand at the Washington Coliseum then!

Or Paul's low harmony on 'I Don't Want To Spoil The Party'.

That's the best one, cos there's no video, so you rely on ears. I swear someone here once said that one word did indeed sound like Paul so he must have come in and dubbed that on after John had left. Yep, that makes SOOOO much sense!

Yeah, it is hard to say. It almost certainly comes from the Trident overdub session though, where the overdubs seem to be tom tom, tambourine, acoustic guitar and extra vocals. In fact, the released mix doesn't seem to include that much of the original room mics, 3 of the 5 main channels of the 5.1 mix seeming to feature Andre Perry's fixups, with only one channel of original room noise (plus John's original vocal mixed into 4 of the channels). Listen carefully to the enunciation of the word 'yeah' in the above sample though, it does sound more like Paul than John.
