    RIP Don Meier!

Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom was a really wonderful program with the interesting pairing of Marlin (Richard) Perkins & Jim Fowler and have many great memories watching it way back when!

    Man, what a life.

The theme to the Mutual of Omaha ads will be burned in my until my last brain cell fizzles out!

Regularly watching this show together in our living room as a little kid is one of my earliest and rather rare happy family memories, along with "The Wonderful World of Disney," which was IIRC also on Sunday nights.

We were living in Omaha, Neb. at the time, so I probably assumed all things came from Omaha. We have friends there now and last time we visited, we went to the zoo which still has a very heavy Mutual of Omaha presence there.

    RIP Don

What a great show. I had the honor of meeting Mr Marlon Perkins by accident. I was 4 years old and visiting the St Louis Zoo. I was running to the bathroom and ran right into him on the way. Neither of us were hurt and he was very friendly.

Wild Kingdom, along with the Disney live action adventure films, began my lifelong love affair with wildlife. I've traveled the world for opportunities to see even a sliver of what I saw during these programs as a young man. the Wild Kingdom dvd"s are a hoot now. RIP Don

I loved that show as a kid. I wonder how it would hold up today?

And who was the buy Marlin Perkins always sent in for the dangerous jobs?

I have written to the Mutual of Omaha suggesting that they syndicate the Wild Kingdom to one of the classic TV diginets as part of the E/I mandate.

I loved the show as a kid, and even when I was older I loved those painfully strained segues into the Mutual of Omaha ads.

"Observing a cobra at close range can place us in imminent danger if proper precautions aren't taken. You may not realize it, but this can be quite similar to the dangers one faces in daily life such driving a car to work, swimming at your local beach, or even performing work around the home. That is why having adequate life insurance is so important, and our friends at Mutual of Omaha can provide you and your family with superior coverage at affordable rates."
