Doors strange days mono vinyl reissue April 2015

Mojo magazine reports The Doors Strange Days mono mix is to be reissued April 2015 on record store day. Nice!

 

Great news! I have VG+ original, but would love to score a copy for my teenage son. Hopefully Waiting For The Sun MONO will see a release although more than half is a fold down.

If Prof. Stoned is saying that's the LP is a dedicated mono mix, then I would tend to believe him.

 

Is there a link for Mojo's report or is it in print only. I did a search and couldn't find anything.

Wonder if it will sound better than my needledrop...though I have my doubts.

 

My fav Doors album. I have the mono lp. Sure sounds like a dedicated mix to me. I never thought the Doors S/T mono album was any great shakes, but mono "Strange Days" imo is a worthy alternative to the stereo mix. Maybe not better but imo very good in a different way.

I thought this was supposed to be "MIA"? Funny how these things are found just in time for RSD, isn't it? It's got to be digital, surely?

 

A cd release of this would be nice.

 

Couple tracks were already released on the Japan Singles box from last year.

 

The mono mix HAS to be dedicated. It sounds too good. Just listen to When the Music's Over...

My vote goes for dedicated, either that, or it's the BEST fold-down I've ever heard

 

It's a dedicated mix. It has some parts that are different from the stereo mix such as hand claps during Unhappy Girl. This article has a breakdown of the differences between the mono and stereo versions.

The article claims that "People Are Strange" isn't much different in mono. I beg to differ- especially on the final "when you're strange" refrains. The delay sounds a bit zwonkier than the stereo.

 

Hopefully Botnick will make a confirmation on the matter one day.

 

Is this release going to be available worldwide and online too? Reading that link above has wet my appetite for this. Now if only we could get it in all-analogue.

 

I'd bet this comes out all-analog. The RSD Mono reissue of the first album was (as far as I am aware), so I see no reason that Strange Days would be any different.

 

Was it? I've got the EU pressing of that one (Rhino) and I thought it was digital?

 

Good news for those who don't have a mono copy. I listen to my mono more often then stereo.
