The question is not whether or not Mr. Carter "did it". The question is whether or not the judicial system was able to prove him guilty beyond a reasonable doubt while at the same time affording him his procedural due process. In the end the Courts held that he was not afforded his procedural due process and the State did not elect to try him once again. Richard.
