A friend of mine has a number of quad albums, transfered to cd & DTS encoded.I don't have a DTS setup, but I want the different mixes. Is it possible to record the DTS signal in stereo, say using either a CD Recorder or even a reel to reel. :help:

I believe that if you were to play the DTS signal through the stereo analog out of a player that had a DTS decoder built in, you would get a "downmix" of all the channels into two. I know that if I play a DTS cd in my DVD player (which doubles as my cd player) in analog that is what I get. Then you should be able to go fromt he analog out of the DVD/Cd player to the analog in of whatever device you would want to record to.

I don´t like how a DD or DTS sounds when downmixed to stereo.

Try some Sting´s DTS Cd in Stereo and the regular CD release for example.
