That's not good for the movie industry... the introduction of the Dual-layer DVD-burner. The first time it's possible to record a movie on a DVD (8,5GB) without any loss of quality. Sony and other manufactures will offer the new DVD-burners in spring 2004.

The next step will be the HD-DVD with 1920 x 1080 Pixels... and the same format war like the beginning: Blue Ray (Philips/Sony) against the Advanced Optical Disc (NEC/Toshiba). But this format isn't playable on a tv... the industry will introduce High Definition-TVs too...

I will replace my burner next year

And I'll finally get around to putting my Devo tapes on DVD!

And my David Byrne laserdisc. And my Star Wars original laserdiscs too.
