Domination is in Earache on Europe, though, isn't it? I thought both Covenant and Domination were on WB (Giant) in the US but still Earache in Europe.
From what I understand that is true. Earache holds copyright for them except for the US. I wished Earache had international copyright for them because the US label doesn't seem to be doing much with them.
For some reason I had a vague memory of seeing the Earache logo on the back of the (US) Covenant cd case, but I was thinking of Blessed are the Sick. Here's to hoping for Extreme Conditions Demand Extreme Responses one day!
I preordered: Nocturnus "The Key" Vinyl Napalm Death "Fear Emptiness Despair" Vinyl Morbid Angel "Heretic" Vinyl Bolt Thrower "Cenotaph / Spearhead" Vinyl Brutal Truth "Extreme Conditions Demand Extreme Responses" Vinyl Vader "The Ultimate Incantation" Vinyl The Haunted "The Haunted Made Me Do It" Vinyl Napalm Death "Words From The Exit Wound" Vinyl I hope some of them will be released .. if not all of them.
But I am a little sceptical about it. I preordered it couple of weeks ago and those numbers have not moved much.
Finally got around to picking up the IVth Crusade. Was about the dirtiest record I've bought. It was sealed, but the inner sleeve has definitely tried to kill it. Lot of wear for a sealed package. Cleaned up nicely though, still light wear showing, but at least proper clean. Played it through, weirdly enough in company of wife and 6 year old son. Wife has been forced to listen to it for 10 years - and one of the first introduced records in my sons life. She's getting around, and the boy just loves it. First time I played it on vinyl, and everybody liked it. Not a great or high budget production, but the analog tapes clearly had more to give, and the FDR version gets the nod. I liked it digital as well, the fdr version. But vinyl adds another kind of depth and clarity. Pick it up as soon as you can, and repackage with a good sleeve is my recommendation.
I've got similar experiences with those good looking but totally inappropriate inner sleeves. Entombed's Wolverine blues and especially IVth Crusade which I bought as it came out and there already been marks on the vinyl and the light scratches too. I am pretty sure all the companies know about it, they just ignore it. What is the problem to insert the vinyl into a proper inner sleeve and then to make a sheet or just let the original inner on its own.
Happens a lot unfortunately. It's a bit annoying when you get a brand new copy. Got realm of chaos fdr as well, just haven't gotten around to opening it yet, but most likely the same.
As I posted before, I preordered: Morbid Angel "Blessed Are The Sick" FDR Colour Vinyl - PRE-ORDER - Morbid Blessed Colour: Gold Entombed "Left Hand Path" FDR Vinyl - PRE-ORDER Morbid Angel "Covenant" FDR Vinyl - PRE-ORDER Napalm Death "From Enslavement To Obliteration" FDR Vinyl - PRE-ORDER Terrorizer "World Downfall" FDR Vinyl - PRE-ORDER Bolt Thrower "Warmaster" FDR Vinyl - PRE-ORDER Napalm Death "Scum" FDR Vinyl I've got the Scum and it looks and plays fine. Hope the rest will be alright as well. I also own: Carcass - Swansong (Earache - MOSH160FDR) blue vinyl Carcass - Symphonies Of Sickness (Earache - MOSH018FDR) black one Entombed - Clandestine (Earache - MOSH 37FDR) kind of brown-red Those colourful records are fine. Symphonies has light scratches as I bought it new and sealed. Also cracked quiet often but after washing plays fine. But I like these FDR records because they sound good to my ears.
Yes, very thick, with too much space, so record moves easily. Plays fine after a wash though. But replacing the sleeve is recommended. Ordered war master and left hand path today as well. LHP should be shipping late next week by the way
Arrgh, I hate this modern trend of thick inners. I recently bought new MFSL sleeves - I routinely put the records in those after a good cleaning.
I'm almost halfway through it now (that was fast for airmail!) and it sounds just like it should. The guitar tone is excellent. I was waiting to see how this one was before pre-ordering World Downfall and Warmaster (Blessed Are the Sick was a given), but it looks like I'm about to head on back to the Earache webstore.
