the 823 WG Polydor CD with ladies cover only has the front half of the gatefold.

The back is Jimi from inside and the (alt. order ) tracklist.

My old Stereo 2625 038 Polydor boxset has the full nude gatefold on the outside.

You are speaking of the insert fold, and not the fatboy case here right?

I was under the impression you got the full cover on inside of set, not the outside which is like you describe.

I found on in the used bin years ago missing that innner folded card, and had to pass. I always figured it was complete on inside of set.

    Vinyl box set, or CD?

So you can imagine how I felt when finally I found the WG fatboy set in the used bin (and it was missing that insert). It went from worth (in my mind) $40 to about $7.99.

Priced at $14.99 it was a pass.

If you do an eBay search there appear to be a lot of copies of mini-lp cds of this title with the nude cover... many of them originating from eastern Europe. Curious...

This EL nude cover and the Band of Gypsys Puppet cover are must haves in the collection.

Prime UK, Japan Polys, or cheap Aust Polys from early 80s it really does not matter. But one has to have these, and LPs are really where it's at I think.

I hope you a) did not yet leave feedback, and b) paid with paypal.

Buying used music on the bay is really a sport that takes a lot of knowing, knowing how to get the right price, knowing what is supposed to be where, etc. And knowing what questions to ask.

Jimi's preferred photo just looks like a snapshot to me, nothing special about it. Wonder why he wanted it?

They screwed up at the printer, and back cover was going to be front, and front cover back.

Song titles were to be layered over redish snapshot on back.

The whole thing got reversed it is obvious.

Does anyone know where these white vinyl ELL are from that i see on eBay ?

I tracked the blue ones on Discogs to a proper Polydor release in 1984 i think it was.

Right. Any nude cover of EL CD or LP without Polydor in red logo is a sure fire fake.

I don't recall colored vinyl Jimi from 80s, and being a pretty series collector I would have seen them.

I would be certain the current ones are fake knockoffs. I have seen picture discs which are also fakes.

This is Discogs for the blue one http://www.discogs.com/Jimi-Hendrix-Experience-Electric-Ladyland/release/2230016 which is undated. Leaves a bit of a mystery there.

I got it mixed up with http://www.discogs.com/Jimi-Hendrix-Experience-Electric-Ladyland/release/600320 from 1984.

The former uses SDLP 3 and the latter SPDLP 3 in the matrix. Completely different. How did i ever mix those up. hahaha

All CDs have a booklet, I would insist that booklet is missing, and not the insert fold naked ladies.

The old Polydor fatboys had a strip of foam in the middle to keep the disc from getting scratched. It can stick to the discs after many years...

ha, i remember that foam. I threw mine out when it started to turn yellow, out of fear it would start to rot the disc it laid against.
