Elvis Presley 68 Comeback Special - Will there be a 50th anniversary release?

Wow. I didn't realize that this was still available. Any self-respecting Elvis fan who doesn't already have this needs to jump on this post-haste.

 

If they have the rights, NBC should show it again in prime time with the original commercials.

 

It looks like there really will be a multimedia release. One is a 5CD/2BD set, and the other seems to be a double vinyl. The special has been restored once again now in upscaled 4K (a bit overkill but all right I guess) and down converted to 1080p. It's the same restoration used in the recent theatrical release.

No new audio on this set, apparently. My deluxe DVD set from the ‘00s is fine for me so I think I’ll be passing on this.

Thanks be worth posting this on other thread about this release. Sorry you have already done that.

 

Anything is possible, but it is hard to see the Tv Special box getting a bluray release also. There would essentially be very little upgrade from bluray due to the source material ... If you want it, I would get it before it becomes hard to find and expensive (if it hasn't already)

 

I think EPE now owns the rights to the Singer Presents Elvis television special.
