Surprised there's no thread for this title. Received e-mail from AF on the announcement. Edit - Title should've been "Pilgrim"
Steve, would you care to say WHY Mr. Marsh went into conniptions with regards to your remastering this title???
We went all the way back, back, back, back, to get the original non-eq'd, non-compressed pure high rez mixes, untouched, unedited and stored at Olympic since back in the day. Thank Bob Ludwig for the clue. The extra mile, Stephen did it all for this project. Took months to figure it out.
Cool. I don't remember much about this album other than I liked "My Father's Eyes", but I'm looking forward to revisiting it. I'm happy to see AF put out another 90's title.
Love how EC recognized how Dylan's "Born In Time" was a great unreleased track begging to be covered!!!
Apparently, there are two versions of this album. The one recorded in 1996 with the band, and the one in 1997 with Simon Climie's drum programming and Pro Tools noodling.
"Pilgrim" came out in 1998. Dylan's "Under The Red Sky" came out in 1990, & the song "Born in Time" was on that album.
OK, I did not know that. But to call it a "great unreleased track begging to be covered" is simply untrue. Perhaps I'm taking what paulg61 said too literally. If so, I apologize.
The original version of "Born In Time" Dylan recorded for "Oh Mercy" is one of his great unrelated songs - the one he re recorded for UTRS 3 yrs later is horrendous!!!!

Can't wait to get this. This is Clapton's best solo album. This is the one time a 60s/70s artist trying to stay contemporary with the current music scene (at the time the late 90s) actually worked, as opposed to sounding forced and awkward like a lot of artists from his era trying to stay current or sticking to the same formula that's been used over and over the last 30 years.
I liked the single, but never heard much else from this one. From the Cradle would be a nice one for AF to visit...
Eric was infatuated with the sound of late 90's R&B and hip hop, and this record-the version that was released, that is-reflects that. It also contains Eric's last Top 40 hit "My Father's Eyes".
