  1. Jean-Luc Ponty, playing material from his Atlantic albums in a small but very nice venue in Austin, TX. Will be a musicians' crowd.

Rodney crowell this past Friday in Portland, OR. We didn't discover the cancellation "due to artist illness" until we walked across the street to start the line for admittance and saw a handwritten notice on the theater. Bummer.

I had FRONT ROW....CENTER tickets for Night Ranger and REO Speedwagon some years ago in Evansville, Indiana.
I mean I was on that "buy tickets" button at ticketmaster the second they went on sale!
Cancelled...I guess we were the only ones going.....
A couple of years later...Night Ranger in Owensboro, Kentucky.
    Postponed.
They did reschedule that one. By the time they came around, the original keyboard player left the band(for the second time.)
They showed up late and we got to watch their soundcheck through the glass doors! So we Won!
How many people can claim to have seen Night Ranger performing:
"Daddy Sang Bass," and "Edge Of Seventeen"!

Definitely. Hopefully it was simply a case of the flu or strep throat. Crazy to think Rodney is already 66 and still such a hard working artist on the road and in the studio. Where does time go?

Was it cancelled? Your last statement implies otherwise...

I was excited to see Jeff Ballard's Fairgrounds with Jeff Parker in NYC at the Village Vanguard but then Hurricane Sandy happened and it was cancelled.

Of course you get a refund.

  12. About a decade back, heavy psych wahoos Acid Mother Temple cancelled their Canadian gigs owing to visa problems. Never rescheduled. Still have my ticket in case they ever decide to make good. :)

No matter, I got to see them live a few times during the reunion era (2006-2012).

Can't think of one. But I've been to plenty of shows where at least one of the opening acts I really wanted to see didn't show and/or was replaced with another band I didn't care for.

Duran Duran in The Hague 2011, twice rescheduled due to Simon Le Bon's voice problems and then the festival organization went bankrupt. So no refund for my purchased tickets.
The other one is Supertramp for their 2015 tour. Rick Davies health issues was the cause of cancelation. Hope he's doing ok thinking of it.

    Morrissey over 30 times.

I got into Muse at the time of Absolution and has a ticket to see them at The Khyber in Philly which was an indie rock bar that held around 200 uncomfortably.

Matt Bellamy was doing a guitar spin a few nights before and smacked himself in the face. Tour was cancelled..they blew up..next time they came around was the Electric Factory which holds around 2500. I chose not to attend out.

Several Killing Joke tours. They are the worst for postponing and outright cancelling tours.

There's one off the top of my head that was a night-of-show cancellation. AC/DC and Yngwie Malmsteen back in late 1985 at the Pacific Amphitheater in Costa Mesa, CA. This was during the height of the "Night Stalker" scare - Richard Ramirez had recently been captured after a series of gruesome home invasion murders mostly in Southern California and was linked to several AC/DC songs. This link dogged the band during their tour but they did play a show at the nearby LA Forum a few days prior. However, the day of the Costa Mesa show, it heavily rained the entire day and being an outdoor show, it was canceled late in the afternoon. We wound up getting refunds on our tickets at the box office instead of seeing the show that evening.

Zombies, two months ago. Was having dinner across the street from the venue, about 90 min before showtime, when half the people in the place started getting alerts from Ticketmaster on their phone. Colin Blunstone was sick and they had to cancel (and soon after, cancelled the next week's worth of shows). They eventually rescheduled and I did get to see them 2 weeks ago.
