FA: Elvis The Legend -- First Edition boxed 3-CD set

This is a very rare 1983 European CD release, one of the very first Elvis Presley boxed sets (if not the first). Auction ends on 2/9/2008. There's no reserve, so bid now.

 

As far as I know those are the very first Elvis CDs!

There are two editions. The discs are identical for the two. However, the first version, limited to 5,000 copies, has gold inserts and a gold slipcase. The second version, limited to 7,000 copies, has silver inserts and a silver slipcase. The gold set was the first release of Elvis on CD.

Despite the historical significance of these sets, those sellers with the Buy It Now prices are dreaming. These sets typically sell for less than $150. I paid less than $150 for a sealed gold set a few years ago. The discs are not known for good sound, which I'm sure hurts the value.

Yeah, I would say $9.95 is less than a million bucks.
