Just so long as the don't cancel "American Dad"!

  5. Sounds about right. The show's been a zombie for some time now, and cheap gimmicks like this don't inspire confidence...although it might be the first new Simpsons material in ages I'll actually watch!

It really is not a big deal since Homer has already appeared on "Family Guy" a few times before.

They aren't canceling it, but it's moving to TBS in 2014.

Never was a fan of the Simpsons and the appeal of Family Guy faded years ago. Best of luck in this exciting new venture.

Terrific idea... But then, I worked on THE FLINTSTONES MEET THE JETSONS, which sucked.

Anyone else remember the Simpsons/Critic crossover? I think that was the last time the Simpsons did a crossover. They poked fun at the Flintstones/Jetsons one in that episode.

Flintstones/Jetsons sucked as a concept because they were both the exact same premise just in different time periods.

Why do I see a the evil, goateed, mirror universe Spock making a cameo in this episode?

Don't agree. Yes, both were sitcoms based on families, but they were different in quite a few ways. No "best friend sidekick" on "Jetsons", no kids for much of "Flintstones" - and the kids were older in "Jetsons" - and much more of the boss in "Jetsons".

Those are off the top of my head - there are probably other notable differences. Don't see them as the "exact same premise" any more than "Honeymooners" and "All in the Family" are the same premise...

    Well….

Okay, I guess you're right now that you've made me think about it.

It kills you to admit I'm right, doesn't it? :D

I think "Jetsons" does feel like a variant on "Flintstones", but they're different enough that "Jetsons" is more than just "Flintstones in Space".

"Flintstones" was a much better series, IMO...

That statement could actually apply to both shows at this point, unfortunately.

Hard to argue with that, but I also think it will do huge ratings for Fox who I'm sure will promote the hell out of it.

  25. So the last ish of Entertainment Weekly had a cover interview with Macfarlane and Groening where they were both blowing sweetness and light up each other's butts. I know there have been several shots taken at Family Guy on Simpsons DVD commentaries though; were none of these from Groening?
