60's Garage & 60's Psych fans R forever acquiring comps while chasing a beloved tune from those times.
The artist never released an album and/or the single is so rare as to B unattainable at a reasonable cost or effort.
The gist of this thread, is in the inevitable obtaining of yet other comp, you come across a song you've never heard B4 that entices U as much or more that the song U brought the comp for.

Offen times buying these comps for that one special song, we're disappointed w/the source and/or mastering. It's always great to find a "Silver Lining" artist/song!
    Such as:
    Perfume Garden Vol. 3 T1
"Take Her Any Time - The Longboatmen"

Just "Shooting in the Dark" comp collectors can comment as well on their Surprise Songs!!

Going for a better source/mastering for
"You're Gonna Miss Me - The Spades"
got "Epitaph For A Legend" & found:
"I Tried So Hard - The Chapparrals"

    Searching for better sonic 'Sonics'
    got (worth getting) "Required Etiquette"
    found:
    "Mistake - Ron Davies"

Not a Garage nor Psych song per se; just one of the moodest songs ever recorded. Would have never found it. NEVER. It was unreleased till BIG BEAT [UK] released the comp!

I remember the first time I ever heard that song - off the 45, in the house of the guy my old band was staying with after a gig in Cleveland OH. It was about 4 a.m. and I had been dozing off, but sat bolt upright when this song came on. Definitely one of those "What the HELL is that?" records. I mean that in the best possible way.

Third Booth - 'I Need Love' turned out to be my favorite on the 'Ear Piercing Punk' comp...but it sounded terrible,
very muddy and distorted. Luckily, the original 45's are plentiful and cheap:

    found:
    "Little Girl - Victors"

I'm a novice to garage psychedelia, so my pick comes from Nuggets. "Don't Look Back" by The Remains is probably my favorite find, but I also really like "Open My Eyes" by The Nazz.

May B shoulda/coulda just had the thread B:
'Songs U found on the Nuggets Box'
    hahaha
My entry into that specific segment:
"Run, Run, Run - The Gestures"
Kinda Poppy, kinda Surfy, kinda Garagey.
    Strange enough for me tho!
    Minnesota band to boot.

From Ace Records' Uptight Tonight: The Ultimate Garage Collection. The title is hyperbolic but it's a very solid compilation.

    Kinda C&W Garage, huh!

Like how 'sloppy' (no offense intended) & 'gravelly' the vocalist is; great 60's 'sound', seems like he'd B good in a lot of bands in a lot of decades [50's - 10's]!

Why did U buy the comp?
[completely understand/BIG Ace/BIG BEAT fan LOL]

Yeah, there's a definitely rockabilly tinge.

I got it because only a few songs overlap with Nuggets, and it seemed like a logical next step.

    One more from that CD:
