The first one that came to mind--with two of the most powerful and moving performances I've ever seen on any size screen, by Daniel J. Travanti and JoBeth Williams. After 30+ years even thinking about this film I get chills.

Duel, already mentioned twice above, was great. But I guess my favorite was The Night Stalker! There was another little vampire flick I really liked called I, Desire.

Escape from Sobibor... if it wasn't for the ad-break fades, it could easily pass for a theatrical feature, such is the quality.

"Evolver". It's about an artificially intelligent super computer that plays "gameS" with humans and tries to kill them.

    Evolver (1995) »

It was one of those Made For The Sci-Fi Channel TV movies. It's supposed to be really suspenseful but it's just kind of stupid and funny.

As I recall "Brian's Song" was the first sort of "legitimate" TV movie. Where a theater quality movie was made for TV.
