Farewell Aldebaran by Judy Henske & Jerry Yester - 1969. Acid folk cult classic. Not everyone's cup of tea, but it's pretty psychedelic in its own way. Worth checking out some clips before taking the plunge to buy. It took me awhile to "get it", actually. Cheers!

I listened to some clips and can honestly say I don't get it, though I do recall the attitude. :D

One of the best Canadian Psych LPs is this gem from 1970. These guys were way ahead of their time, singing about corporate greed, acid rain, oil spills and pollution..... great music too !

Haha yes some of the lyrics are definitely corny. Overall it's a solid effort though. I've got pretty good prices for originals of this over the years...

I was going to say "Electric Ladyland" but I think it goes beyond being a psychedelic LP (in actual fact it's simply the best album ever, whether you like it or not).
    So I'll vote for:
    - The Jimi Hendrix Experience: Are You Experienced, Axis: Bold As Love
    - The Rolling Stones - Satanic Majesties
    - The Beatles: Revolver, Sgt Pepper's, Magical Mystery Tour
    - Pink Floyd: Piper, Saucer, More
    - Funkadelic: everything up to 1975

Another psychedelic masterpiece that blew me away was Jimi Hendrix "Band of Gypsys". A psychedelic mushroom adventure in about 1977. Machine Gun tore me apart in the back seat of one of those cars where the back seat envelopes you.Couldn't see anything but felt the full force of that Machine Gun.Oh the good old days of experimental youth.

Like maaany others have said, Piper’s.
I’ve stated before somewhere that this album has transported me to another world unlike most psychedelic albums can. I have geniuinely tripped to this album before. I promise you. Without drugs, the music is all you need and to be in the right state of mind. Sounds ridiculous but I swear. No, I don’t have mental issues, I promise
Special mention to Saucerful which has done the same thing. Such an underrated album.

Other honourable mentions are Strange Days, Pepper’s, Mystery Tour and Waiting For the Sun.
The psychedelic genre is my favourite sub-genre of rock.

Yes brilliant name...pity they did not read the rest of the poem....are we to `Shun` them?

    “Beware the Jabberwock, my son!
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun
    The frumious Bandersnatch!” :)

  18. It’s impossible to pick one but for me the conversation definitely includes Soft Machine volume 1 and Spirit - Twelve Dreams of Dr. Sardonicus.

No. That would be Frumious Bandersnatch being shunned by the straights.
