He's not even from London. He's from Dartford, Kent. I think the only Stone actually from London...is Bill.

I vote for Chess sessions full stereo, when if ever they should decide to release this.

    Well, here's my favorites:

    There Satanic Majesties Request
    Between the Buttons
Greatest Hits 2 (Stop sign shaped, with Honky Tonk Woman)
    Some Girls

Probably in that order at least for today.

Depends on what day it is. I'm listening to their second album at the moment in mono, from the 64-69 vinyl box set, and just loving it.

I love their second album (No.2 that is). It just smokes all the way through...except for "Under The Boardwalk".

I always felt The Stones were a great singles band rather than an album band, but that's me and that their sound doesn't do it for me as much as other bands. I like all of their albums, but I love their singles usually, especially the 60's stuff. But even now they always know what the best song for a first single is off of their albums.

I love this album because it was one of the first records I owned (I won it from my cousin playing chess). Because of that I played it to death (literally, there is very little left in those grooves with the record player I had at the time). And it is a mighty fine performance and track listing as well.

For many years it was the only Stones record I had, and didn't become familiar with others until Some Girls came out (another great Stones album, but I didn't enjoy Black+Blue). Only heard others in passing, and it is only in recent years that I've thought that I should get their classic albums and be familiar with them (and I'm very much enjoying some of them, and finding others OK).

Sticky Fingers. It comes closest to living up to the "myth" of the band, I think.

I think that many people feel this way - either the singles or the opening tracks ("Sympathy", "Gimme Shelter"). My family is that way - they love going to the shows because the live shows are weighted heavily towards those hits, but in general, they aren't big blues fans so entire albums are tough sailing.

Stoned side of The Mule 1 & 2...

Seriously, this album had such an affect on me it caused me to pick up 8 Stones albums and counting! I'm having a rennas.... rennais... really good time discovering this GREAT rock and roll band!

If you haven't heard Stoned side, do yourself a favor and give it a spin, it's great.

"Let It Bleed"... That hasn't changed since I was a kid... It's kind of a toss up for me between "Big Hits II" and "Sticky Fingers" for #2, but LIB is just epic from start to finish. It's great for the same reason albums like "Pet Sounds" and "All Things Must Pass" are great. It transcends the purely-musical experience and takes you to a higher place. Plus, "Let It Bleed" just slams the door shut on the '60's. I love that. The thing is like an epitaph. The cover should have a headstone on it instead of a wedding cake.
