It was clearly a relevant question to ask. In this internet age with all kinds of streaming, it is hard for traditional tuner company to survive ...

I think their survival strategy has been to add Internet tuners to their lineup.

So they have a combo tuner - both internet and convention FM?

I'm not sure if it's a combo unit or not. Their website doesn't render well on my small phone and I can't navigate the menus.

I've owned that silver faced 3001 I am having my black faced Tandberg 3001A service right now... It beats the silver 3001 IMHO. Probably the best tuner I've owned. I also have a Sansui 9900 and a Sansui 919 (both tweaked). The Tandberg beats them both IMHO. I've owned many of the top Yamahas, Kenwoods, Magnum Etude and other top ones mentioned here; My friends have owned the McIntosh 78, 80, Accuphase 109 (not 109v I'd love to hear that one) I prefer the 3001A to all of that I've heard.

I think the Scott 310E & LT-110 is the finest tuner I ever heard. It was also used a lot in commercial FM repeater use. That is a stringent service. Second are Fisher tube type stereo tuners- all are excellent.

My current tuners are Scott LT 110-B and a Kenwood KT5020. I have had a lot of other tuners through the years but the Kenwood is by far the best overall...

But that frequency readout on the tuner is useless when it comes to internet radio, which goes by its URL. Am I missing something here?

I already have the following Grace Internet Tuner and will not bother with another all-in-one tuner ...

Kenwood 600T followed by a Magnum Dynalab 101 that was modified by the designer.

Is Magnum Dynalab a Canadian company?

Yes it was in the Toronto area when Manfred the original designer ran it. I really don’t know if it still exists

It certainly exists. Picked up my MD108T after a tune-up back in September. Magnum Dynalab is located at 8 Strathearn Avenue in Brampton, north of Toronto (near Dixie Road and Steeles Ave. East). They had one rack in the back full of refurbished units for sale. Still a good little company.

The tune-up of my MD108T was perfect. It’s better than ever, which is to say a truly great FM tuner.

Yep, it seems like it’s still in the same place. I used to enjoy going out there and talking to them.

Best looking tuner ever made IMO is the Sansui TU-9900. It also sounds excellent & receives extremely well.[IMG][/IMG]

Note- can't figure how to host picture on this site like other sites.
