Yup, I was going to say Manasssas as well.
Frankly, I'm surprised this thread went five pages before it was mentioned.

Loads is the answer. Here are 6, Blonde on Blonde, Layla, Exile on Mainstreet, Physical Graffiti, Made in Japan, Bitches Brew. I would not change a moment on any of them.
Whoops forgot Quadrophenia and Electric Ladyland.

One of the problems I have with this thread - not a criticism of the thread, just my own personal problem - is that I was not aware that many of the albums listed in this thread were double albums. It's not something I am likely to notice, unless I had the original vinyl version, or unless it's something well known like the Beatles s/t or The Wall. Many albums that were originally double-disc releases fit comfortably on a single CD.

I always thought The Wall has less than one album of good songs and lots of filler. Something like 35% killer and 65% filler.

I can concur with many of these repeatedly mentioned except for Blonde on Blonde. Removing the weaker songs makes it a much more powerful and compelling album imo. Yes, in case you're wondering, the first to go is Rainy Day Women, and no, Sad Eyed Lady (she's sad because she's forced to share an album jacket with RDW) never needed her own side...

I do like Blonde on Blonde as a great double lp, but remove Rainy Day Women (never a fan) and sequence in She's Your Lover Now as the start of the lp.

As far as my own great double, I think Over the Rhine's "OHIO" is great from start to finish without any filler in my opinion.

    These!

    And these! :

    Tago Mago by The Can
    Yeti by Amon Düül II

(obviously I'm repeating somewhat what phil1db and Gavinyl said earlier)

Personally, I think 'Todd' has far less filler.

And there are a lot of CD's released over the last 30 years that would be double vinyl albums. The Stones A Bigger Bang runs 64:23 - 3 minutes shorter than Exile On Main Street. There are plenty of single CD's that could be trimmed down to a solid 45 minute album! (there are threads about that as well!)

And it took only 6 pages to list all the double albums ever made. Well done chaps.

I don't mean to be critical, but I'd be surprised by anyone buying and listening to an album without investigating a little of its history. But, yes, I can see your point if it's something a person has never bothered buying.

And amazing how quickly albums with filler get mentally converted to albums without filler by their fans. Obviously the concept 'filler' is in the ear of the beholder.

    Double albums with filler:

Greasy Truckers Party Live At Dingwalls. One-t0-two good sides, imo.
Henry Cow Concerts (sides 3 and 4 are some weak improv (by the band's own standards))
Todd. There are a couple of weak tracks on this but I forgive him as, on the whole, its a very strong and inventive album.
Something/Anything. Really can't see what the fuss is about this album, and even given that there are filler material.
The White Album. Only a rabid The Beatles fan would give this no-filler status.
Tanze Der Lemminge but the Amon Düül II. I really like it but even I would not place this in the no-filler category. There are some plodding sections.
The Soft Machine Third. I find most of this to be filler, so perhaps I'm no judge. But even Wyatt's side is a bit boring in it's execution.

If filler is defined as one track slightly worse than the rest then all of them.

I think it takes a bit more than to call something 'filler'

Mike Oldfield - Incantations. My favourite of his by a country mile.

Yes - Tales From Topographic Oceans. Forget the threads about cutting it down to a single album, I love ALL of it!!

I’m a huge Hendrix, Zeppelin and Who fan, but I’ll admit ELL, PG and Tommy have filler (ELL had Come On, which recorded for the purpose of having one more song on the LP. Great song, but still. And Underture? Boogie with Stu?). Of the studio double albums, Layla comes closest to no filler for me.
