The Horse's Mouth - what a great film! Though I have to guess that if it was remade, the last wall art piece would have been saved by the local people instead of being knocked down by the developers.

The Moderns - very funny little movie about art forgery and swindling.

    Big Eyes.

Directed by Tim Burton. A film about Margaret Keane, whose husband Walter Keane took credit for her painting with the big eyes. Starring Amy Adams and Christoph Waltz.

Just saw it recently - liked it a lot more than I thought I would. Salma is way too hot to be Frida but she sells it with her spitfire attitude and I think Alfred Molina is great as Diego.

I was about to post this...I saw it in the theater some time back. The story is OK (not great) and the visual style took some getting used to for me...I found it a bit off-putting at first. (I'm an artist so I was expecting to be totally wowed by the visuals). Regardless it's amazing that the filmmakers got this made. Let us know how you like it.

What? No mention of "The Agony & The Ecstacy" in which Charlton Heston played Michelangelo?

Robert Altman’s Vincent & Theo, about Van Gogh. Probably my favorite post-'70s Altman film.

Yes, Warner Archive released it on DVD awhile back, but it still needs an HD release. It's a Merchant/Ivory film.

Another good Van Gogh bio is Robert Altman's 1990 film Vincent and Theo, with Tim Roth as Van Gogh.

Well there's Factory Girl about Warhol, but I wouldn't recommend it to anybody unless you're going to watch it with the sound off. Visually, it's a real treat, but the dialog and character development are about as banal, misguided, and heavy handed as any really bad film I've ever seen.
