Double Platinum , in 2011. That made me a big fan, I was already in my thirties but better late than never.
    Favorite album would be Unplugged.

I was 3 and saw my brother's copy of Alive! and there was no way that record wasn't going to be mine all mine! First record I ever bought was Love Gun on my 5th birthday. Favorite remains Alive! by far. If going with a studio album I'd pick Hotter Than Hell.

The second part is easy: 'Destroyer' is my favorite.

As far as which one I heard first it must've been one of the first 3. Our neighbors had a daughter that gave me my first KISS record, but it was some sort of special edition that had their first 3 albums all in one package. I'm sure some of the KISS experts on here know what I'm talking about.

  5. Kiss Alive. My fave is the debut alongside the only Kiss album you can enjoy with a glass of wine.. Music from the Elder

I was about 6 years old when I saw "I Love It Loud" on the MTV. I knew this was a group I wanted.to explore. I'm relatively sure I got a copy of ALIVE! at a garage sale first. After that I used my bi-weekly $10 allowance.to buy another KISS record from the local Record Town until I had them all...except Hotter Than Hell, cause Mom didnt approve of the photos on the back. Or The Elder, because I just couldn't seem to find one.

I believe it was the debut. 4th grade we were allowed to listen to records in the back of the class when we finished our work. We'd all huddle around a suitcase player with multiple headphones plugged into a splitter box that was plugged into the headphone jack. Pestered my parents to buy me Alive! shortly after. My younger brother got Destroyer at the same time.

I was coming to the Kiss age during the Animalize/Asylum period. The first full album would have been Crazy Nights I guess. I remember having some songs on tape off the other 80s albums.

    My top two:
KISS 1974. I like the sound too, no matter what the band thinks of it.
Alive III. I thought they were having one of their best periods just before the reunion.

I still think Crazy Nights is a good album. Paul's high vocals on some of those songs are incredible. I'll Fight Hell To Hold You for one.

Sr yr HS. Dolly Pendergast's house. HUGE drinking party. I always kept one eye on the stereo, the girls at school were snotty and not worth my time. besides, I was an alcoholic.
Anyway, someone brings in this album with these guys in makeup on the front cover. WTF? who are these guys?
He doesn't know. Just says 'this thing ROCKS'. Wait til you hear the last song.
Puts on Black Diamond. OMG. It's wonder the stylus isn't melting.

The first album when it came out. I was in 8th grade. I liked it enough, but never felt the need to buy anything else by them.

We were allowed to play records during recess. Someone brought in "Alive II". "I Want You" blew my 8 year old mind. They were my first musical obsession.

  16. My 10-year-old mind heard KISS ALIVE! back in 1975 & rock'n'roll was never the same...has been & always will be my favorite.

Sorry, but the answer is the same for both questions. I have no rational explanation.

I've never heard a full album, or more than a few songs. I think Rock and Roll All Night was the first song. All I have is a 45 of Hard Luck Woman.
