Fleetwood Mac - Say You Love Me / Carole King - Sweet Seasons.... Sound Similar?

Just slow down Fleetwood Mac and wahlah. (Or speed up Carole King)

actually I don't think they're that similar. love both...

 

There is a similar rhythm section feel to both songs, yes. I think that is the only similarity.

 

I feel a lawsuit coming on.

 

I've always thought that.

 

Carole has been ripped off by some very disparate people (she wrote the melody for Neil Young's Pocahontas some fifteen years before he did) but I don't think she's ever sued, though she can hardly be unaware of these cases. Maybe she's just too rich and too nice?

Not at all. The melody lines are completely different.

 

a little bit of similar flavor, but really, no. Sweet Seasons is the far better song imo.

 

Yes, as I mentioned above there is only a vague similarity in the piano and rhythm section hook. Not enough for a lawsuit.

If anything, Sweet Seasons rips off Ticket To Ride ar :50 just as The Beach Boys Girl Don't Tell Me did.
