Forget about the Technics SL-1200 turntable, get the SL-P1200 CD player

I remember seeing one of these in a Japanese audiophile magazine back in the late 80s. Probably not competitive with current CD players, but would make a nice conversation piece.

  2. They had one of these at a radio station I worked at about 12 years ago...I loved it, since it was the only thing I could cue up certain CDs tightly with (for some reason, I remember "Young Lust" by Pink Floyd as being a problem...)

They make a wonderful boat anchor or door stop. I had 6 of these in a radio station I was engineer of and they broke down constantly. Technics service couln't fix them.

The then relatively cheap SL-P3 they replaced ran for 18 months without a hitch.

    The SL-P1300's were solid machines.
