Ok - last one...really. But I was thinking on this one. Quirky, catchy, sonically you can crank this and sounds killer. Lene Lovich - New Toy 1981 Peaking at number 19 on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Song number 53 on the UK Singles Chart, and number 29 on the Australian Kent Music Report. It was written by Thomas Dolby, about his new Fairlight CMI synthesizer. He created the song specifically for Lovich after seeing her perform live.
I don't know where or if this song charted, but I certainly remember it getting lots of airplay. Treat Her Right- "I Think She Likes Me"
Dear Enemy : Computer One It got a US release on Capitol. I never, ever saw the video for this song until Youtube, though... Cool video with some shots of computer hardware circa 1983. Those reel-to-reel tapes are 9-track tapes--the favored format for storing "a lot" of data at the time (max: 175mb). And those things that look like washing machines in that computer room are disc drives!
