Agreed. That was Mel's low-light of his career.

That scene (and the ensuing line) in the dressing room was one of the funniest I ever saw/heard...the line about the next 2 weeks. :D

Oy yoy yoy. That had to be Bill's most annoying part ever. That's why no one has mentioned it.

I always thought it would have made a better broadway show than a movie

I do laugh at the one exchange between Robin Hood and Rabbi Tuckman (played by Mel):

Robin Hood: Hello! I am Robin Hood, and these are my merry men!
    Rabbi Tuckman: (Looking around) Fageleh?
    Robin Hood: Uh, no...just merry.

Grant mentioned it. I know a lot of people who love this one. I'm kind of indifferent about it...maybe my least favorite Bill Murray role.

How could I have forgotten my favourite comedy of all time?

    Word to live by:

"All jocks ever think about is sports. All we ever think about is sex."

My sentiments exactly! I just know I'm going to split my gut. :righton:

I think "Three Amigos" is an underrated modern comedy classic. The "Singing Bush" segment is one of the funniest things I have ever seen.

"Life Stinks" didn't exactly sparkle either. "High Anxiety" is my favorite Brooks film and was his last true classic. "History Of The World Part 1" has it's moments but I can live without it. His remake of "To Be Or Night To Be" was entertaining, but it was just that- A remake, not "true" Brooks. "Space Balls" is okay but " Life Stinks" and "Men In Tights" are unwatchable. Mel already skewered Robin Hood in his short-lived 70's TV series "When Things Were Rotten" which was much better than "Men In Tights" was.

I agree with so many of the films listed. A couple that stood out to me I saw on tv as a little kid were Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein and Abbott and Costello Go to Mars. Meet Frankenstein had everything to me as a kid- huge laughs, great original characters, a few scares, etc. Go to Mars had pretty women and many laughs as well.

I also throw out Easy Money with Rodney Dangerfield and Joe Pesci as another to go along with previously mentioned Caddyshack and Back to School.

Anyone mention "Porky's"? That was a huge hit with the high school crowd when it came out.

"Easy Money", as just mentioned, is very funny!!!

Also; I would like to add the 'Trinity' movies with Terence Hill And Bud Spencer. Those are a hoot! :righton: :agree:

Oh, and this may have been mentioned already; "Big Trouble In Little China". Very cute!! :righton:

I think Dr. Strange Strangelove is the funniest film ever. I say that because of what subject matter they made funny....the John Birch Society, flouride, commie plots, death, dying, and the mushroom clouds of nuke-lear combat.

"...Mandrake, have you ever wondered why I drink only pure grain alcohol and rainwater...."

I think A Fish Called Wanda is a close second....

"....what do the British eat with their fish....chips!"
