I'll be surprised if I can't get in through a hole in the fence, which is what I plan on doing.

If there had been general admission tickets at a reasonable price, Gene would have made some more money off of me.

I was one of those completists for KISS music but that quickly ended for me when the band released Kissteria vinyl box set in 2014. I refused to pay 1750USD + shipping + customs fees, for a box set which included 6 LP's only available in the box set of which 1 LP never previously released on vinyl.

I don't mind paying for music but it has to be at a reasonable price. Paying thousands of dollars for exclusive vinyl and cd's takes out all the fun out of a hobby of collecting music. I can better spend that money elsewhere.

  4. Simmons was on Fox and Friends this morning explaining his "vault" Looked like a big safe--I would say 3-4 ft tall--black with decorations and he said he was including every single thing he's ever done, both with KISS and Dylan and others. Offering it for $2000 and will deliver it to your door IN PERSON. Didn't offer any other explanations; I thought it might be a fundraiser for hurricane victims, but due to time restraints the reporter said to go to his website. I personally wouldn't want it, but for 2000 cabbages to have him appear at your door in person might be a tickle

I know what people are ultimately paying for here is the 'experience' but I have to say the packaging looks kind of crappy.

$2000 is only to purchase it and receive it at a location in a designated city--he's doing something of a "Vault Presentation" tour. He's supposed to talk for a bit, you receive your item, he'll sign it I think, etc.

For Gene to show up at your door, you have to pay $50,000. Yes, that's 50 thousand dollars. For that price he'll deliver it to your door and hang out with you and up to 25 of your friends for 2 hours.

I'd like to add that for only 20% of that price, I'll come to your house and hang out with you for an entire day--I'm a bargain.

For $50,000, my "experience" had better be being a member of KISS, and cowriting with them as we eventually release an album, for a couple years.

Time to take that second mortgage on my house out...NOT!!! LOL

Hey if someone can afford it and wants to do it, more power to them. I'll wait for the economy version, if I even get that. I would love to hear the Van Halen tracks though. I'm curious about those.

  9. thanks for the clarification. Didn't hear that, but at that time of day I'm busy feeding dogs and feeding my son so only half listening

Good luck to everyone who has this amount of money getting this set. I consider this very greedy and encouraging most people to go on BitTorrent or Soulseek and download for free

Yeah. I'm can't say I'll feel guilty when I seek out the tiny few tracks here that interest me.

I'm interested in the option that allows me to pay Gene NOT to come to my house.

For $2000 you can do so or go the illegal route

Pretty sure I'd call the police if he showed up at my doorstep unexpectedly.

No...I don't want his unreleased music either. I am looking for an option that keeps him out of my City and also his music that couldn't make an album (and lets be honest there are some crappy Kiss albums so for some songs not to make the cut on those.....yikes).

I have every KISS album, but I'd be content with paying $1.99 each for the Gene/Van Halen brothers demos of "Tunnel of Love" and "Got Love For Sale."

It's a pity Gene was not born in America, HE could solve our U.S. dept crisis in 90 days.

I blow some crazy amounts on records for bands that I like, and for my favorite band, I even will be spending over $1000 to travel up the East coast to see them perform 6 concerts and meet them at each of those concerts in another month from now.

But holy hell, I just cannot fathom spending this kind of money for what he's offering. I like KISS, and granted I'm no super fan, but I just can't imagine plunking down this kind of money. Each option just seems insanely overpriced to me -- even the in-home appearance.

Surely someone is going to giving Gene money for this, but I can't help but shake my head over that notion.

That wording seems pretty definitive but I wouldn't put it past Gene to find some wiggle room in there somehow.
