What a great voice she had. I still remember when "The Wayward Wind" came out, I was nine years old.

One of the first 45 rpm discs I bought with my own money. Loved them french horns, great gimmick + she was a bit of a babe.

A sad loss, Gogi Grant made some very nice records. "The Wayward Wind" will be her song forever.

I'd listen to it about 25 years ago and hear all those old songs, and The Wayward Wind was often played.
I always looked forward to it.

Her hit The Wayward Wind is immortal. I didn't know how much it resonates with many, until Neil Young covered it.

I agree. I believe "The Wayward Wind" was one of the first songs that I have a memory of as a child, and probably THE first one. It's between this one and "The Higher Up the Berry Tree". :D
I would have been 4 or 5 years old depending on when in 1956 the record was released.
I liked her record then, and I still like it now, so RIP Gogi, and thanks for getting me started.

Rest in peace. Wayward Wind was (count 'em) 60 years ago! It was a little before my time, but the Frank Ifield hit version in '63 sure wasn't. As usual, it was a while before I found out it was a cover.

A huge portion of Frank Ifield's work consists of covers.
