Are there any UK or Canadians on here that remember the 60s children's show about a bunch of kids in Canada that had a real log built fort and loads of adventures ?
Also a Australian kids show that build a fort out of old fruit boxes called Tin town?
Nothing like the Canadian fort but still had great adventures and massive walkie talkies ?
Both were around the same time of the magic boomerang.

"The Judy Garland Show" which ran from fall 1963 to spring 1964 Sundays nights against "Bonanza". Went through some tinkering (Jerry van Dyke, the least funny comedian ever, was on initially but soon dropped). At its best near the end when it was mainly Garland singing.

The Canadian Show was "The Forest Rangers" and it ran from 1963-1965.

    * Yes, there was another year of a show called Space:1999, but it in no way resembled the original series that starred Martin Landau, Barbara Bain, and Barry Morse.

For me, that show was all about the chemistry and personalities of Jim Hutton, David Wayne and John Hillerman, and in that respect it was fantastic.

Uhhh, I think that series was very campy in its way, but I still loved it! I used to have the entire series on VHS, then I got the DVD set and sold the VHS tapes and I hate myself for doing so, because the DVD is monumentally screwed up. They left off the day-for-night filter so all the nighttime scenes are obviously mid-afternoon.

Two one season wonders that I enjoyed were Maybe It's Me (teen family comedy with Regan Dale Neis and Julia Sweeney) and John Doe (wannabe X-Files/Bourne Identity mashup which was very well done and intriguing). Funny thing about John Doe is, at the time every woman my wife knew was aware of the program and had a crush on the lead actor and it STILL got cancelled after one season! And it was a cliffhanger too. Quite a shame.

Oh I just remembered one from 1979: Cliffhangers.

    From wikipedia:

Cliffhangers attempted to revive the genre of movie serials in a made-for-TV format. Each hour-long episode was divided into three 20-minute (including commercials) segments featuring different storylines. During the series' run, three serials were featured - a mystery, a science fiction/western hybrid, and a horror story.

This aired opposite Happy Days/Laverne and Shirley, which were both pretty long in the tooth at that point (the former having literally jumped the shark two years earlier). Since it was something new, and since my dad had been showing me serials from the 30s around this time, I was really into this show as only a 9 year old can be. Whether it holds up at this date, I can't tell you.

Quite liked the DARK SKIES when it came out in 1996. The last few episodes weren't so great, they were a little rushed as they tried to finalised the show.

My favourite though is AUSTRALIA... YOU'RE STANDING IN IT! Hilarious comedy show that only lasted one season. Probably only seen in Australia though.

Maybe its Me was a good show and that star was such a cutie. Another sitcom from this century that should have last was Whoopi. So not PC and so funny.

I finally watched 'Archangel'. I really liked it, interesting take on USSR. Craig was really good in the role.
