I would like to know if there were ever any concerts that we know yup have been legendary but we have no recordings of them.

Up until a few years ago, we had nothing from the beginnings of bebop. Then they found and released the Town Hall show with Dizzy and Bird.

Are there any others? Bonus points for the most recent!

Mothers Of Invention run of shows at the Garrick Theatre in 1967. There is some film but word is there were no audio recordings.

I've heard that, despite being active for at least a year and a half, there are no recordings of John Spence as the singer of No Doubt before his death.

I don't know if it would fit the "greatest concerts" tag (probably not) but I'd really like to hear a recording of the five-man Pink Floyd.

Maybe not exactly a legendary show, but an amusing example - Phil Collins's first show as the lead singer of Genesis in Canada in 1976. I have read that Phil himself has tried to find a tape of it without success.

Probably sounded a lot like the four man Floyd: Barrett's contribution was minimal by all accounts. Having said that, I have to admit I'd also be curious to hear em in case there were any interesting variations or evidence of Barrett/Gilmour interplay.

The first lineup of Tull at (I think) the Reading Blues Festival in summer of '68. It has been said that this was where everything came together--all their fans were at one place, they played a killer set and the huge audience went wild.

Still looking in vain for any recordings of Mozart's first European tour.

Any Beatles concert with Stu Sutcliffe would be a biggie, I think.

Surely that must've been recorded though?

Would like to hear any early 70s Sparks performances with the original band - doubt any survive though.

Six of the Best (Genesis reunion in 1982) has no video recording or official audio recording (bootleg recordings are around). Many have speculated Peter does indeed have a pro-shot of it he doesn't want released however.
