Oh, please. I've been wanting a Magnus Robot Fighter movie or series or something for 45 years, and I doubt I'm alone (there are 3 more of us...).

Doctor Strange? I don't know how much more the Marvel well has to give. I thought Thor was pushing it, in terms of publicly recognizable characters. IIRC, DOCTOR STRANGE didn't even merit a monthly release schedule when it was at its peak popularity.

I think this has the potential to be a superhero flick with the tongue-in-cheek vibe - and, hopefully, character interaction - of the late '80s Giffen/DeMatteis Justice League run. If so, that would be a very, very good thing.

It could also fall flat on it's ****, but I'm hoping for something along the lines of the above.

Given the right director with a suitable visual style, it could work. I'm thinking the Speed Racer film from a few years ago; bright and psychedelic. Go back to the way Ditko did the book.

I do remember the 1970s pilot movie. That was disappointing.

I only know of the characters from the StarLord issue of Marvel Premiere from 1980 or so and the Rocket Raccoon mini series from a few years later. Obviously I'm happy that the trailers seem to be focusing on those two.

Love the new trailer, particularly the raccoon. This movie could be a lot of fun.

This movie looks so batsh1t crazy that I might actually go see it. Glenn Close? Raccoons with weaponry? Trees that give girls flowers? Count me in, maybe ...

On another note, the new trailer for that Seth McFarlane western makes it look a LOT better.

I like that, too. I was just talking to a friend of mine today, saying, "I initially didn't think the movie would do that well, but now I'm beginning to think that the timing will be good for a gross-out comedy by the end of May, so it'll do well." I tend to doubt that it'll make $548M like Ted did, but I bet it'll easily do $250M and make a big profit. (There's no budget info on the web, but I'm guessing $75M, which is 50% more than Ted.)

This is the movie I am the most excited for this summer. I love the cast, I love James Gunn, and I love the absurd concept of it all. If they nail this, it could be the most bizarre, fun, mainstream film in a long time.

Looking forward to this movie. The McFarland film I'm just going to ignore. Don't like that guy.
