I've settled for the download, but likewise I'll be keeping an eye on the Super Deluxe set.

Coincidentally, I checked out Queen's similarly overpriced News of the World set that came out last year. I got one for Christmas, but there are still copies of that to be had now, and for far less than it originally sold for.

Agreed, his bass tones are sick, and his fills are the bees knees!

I don’t mind My World. It’s only 1:39 long and half of it is moaning. I’d like some extended version or remix on the UYL box set.

I'll get 2 lp vinyl next. Waiting for inevitable box price drop.

Still think the 2008 reissue of AFD sounds great.

I'm late to this thread sorry. I've scanned but having trouble finding the answer, so with apologies in advance will ask here. What is the sound quality of this vinyl release like?

Well, give Axl points for predicting rock's future anyway.... since "My World" came out a year before Rage's debut. (In fact, UYI was in stores a month before RATM played their first public show.)
And of course, UYI and "My World" predate Limp Bizkit by a good 6 years.....

For sure! I'd like to see a Trent Reznor or maybe even JG Thirwell remix. Or something from Liam Howlett, mash it up! Front 242 remix?

Not many tracks on there you be excited to see remixed in the traditional sense, but that's one of them.

I can tell you that the double vinyl remaster absolutely and utterly outshines the CD which I purchased in '87.
Heard people mention the 2008 remaster but not heard it, so go for the new vinyl, you simply cannot be disappointed..guaranteed.

I own the 2008, just pulled it out and listening now. Sounds great, as I remember it. Punchy sound with a lot of detail. Great pressing quality too.

Can anyone who owns the new one and the 2008 comment on the comparison?

Quick question ; if the remaster vinyl is cut from the same HD audio files as what can be downloaded from HD Tracks, how could the vinyl be superior?

Unless the listeners who prefer the vinyl (aside from the vinyl bias) simply have a superior phono chain compared to their digital one?

Certain cart set-ups/phono pre's may/may not color the sound. If someone enjoys the signature their cart/pre adds they may enjoy it over the other format.
This is just my experience when comparing the two formats with the same mastering.

No thanks. Flipping discs every 8 min ain't for me. I happily boycott 45 RPM versions of everything.

I have always liked My World, myself. Gets a lot of hate for being a very short track and the last track that is easily avoidable.

That’s the reason for me. My digital “chain” is an iPhone.

On You're Crazy on the new remastered CD, has anyone else noticed a digital silence glitch? Happened both times I've played it.

With AFD you would have 12 to 16 minutes per side if it were cut into fourths.

Which vinyl version, in this thread's experts, will give me more bass and less bass drum? Some versions I've heard in the past lowered the bass and pumped the bass drum.
