Ed Bishop Incredibly, I'm still here

One of the great musicians of the 20th Century.

What still amazes me is that the original '67 release of "What A Wonderful World," despite going to #12 on Billboard's Easy Listening chart and Bubbling Under some months later, was forgotten by the time it was revived for GOOD MORNING, VIETNAM, in 1988(got to #7 AC that time).

Justice prevails: a shining moment from a titanic talent!:)

Shortly *before* Good Morning Vietnam came out, a local dairy company used the song in a TV ice cream ad. I was 14 or 15 at the time fell in love with the song just from the 10-second (or less) clip I heard.

The irony now is that for many people, "WAWW" and possibly "Hello Dolly" are the only Louis they know, and as terrific as those songs are they're hardly representative of his monumental talent or contributions to the development of popular music.
