It's been a lazy summer. In true nerd fashion, I made a list of Nilsson's 1967 sessions according to the RCA Albums box. Figured I'd let it be on the forum for other Nilsson obsessives.

That box is a tremendous bargain. I bought it upon its release and am still discovering new treasures.

Lovely. Thanks. Now to play some Harry.

Note that his cover of 'She's Leaving Home' was very close to the US release date, it was a brand new song to most people then.

There was this promo album:Various - New Nilsson Songs

It may have been 1967. It kind of has that '66 sound on it like the Spotlight album has. The Monkees attempted recording it during the Headquarters sessions in early 1967. That's the earliest I know of the song. It may have been part of the early February sessions but I'm unsure. Not on the box, but he did run-through part of the song on the Monkees demo session that happened in March.

Thank you! One of my favorite songs from that disc of the box, "Leggenda," has always baffled me... it wasn't released until 1972, and only in Italy as a B-Side to the Italian version of "Without You." The weird part is why Harry would record and shelve a song sung in Italian five years earlier...

    Bump.

I've been trying to make a little Nilsson Anthology playlist and used your sequencing for the '67 year. Not a lot of information have I been able to find regarding any other period, except for hints gathered from the box set. So far I've got:

    It's Been So Long
    Freckles
    Without Her
    1941 (Demo)
This Could Be The Night (Demo)
    Cuddly Toy (Demo)
    Signs (Demo)
    World (Demo)
    Cuddly Toy
    There Will Never Be
    She's Leaving Home
    As I Wander Lonely
    Sleep Late My Lady Friend
    Ten Little Indians
    The Family
    You Can't Do That
She Sang Hymns Out Of Tune
    River Deep
    Marchin' Down Broadway
    Little Cowboy
    Little Cowboy 2
    Miss Butter's Lament
She Wandered Through The Garden Fence
    Leggenda
    One (Alternate)
    One
    Mr. Richland's Favourite Song
    Mr. Tinker
    Mr. Tinker (Alternate)
    Daddy's Song
    I Said Goodbye To Me
    Everybody's Talkin'
    She's Just Laughing At Me
    Searchin'
    Good Old Desk
    Don't Leave Me
    Together
    The Wailing of the Willow
    Bath
    Gotta Get Up (1968 Version)
    You Are Here
    Garbage Can Ballet
    I Will Take You
    Girlfriend
    Wasting My Time
    Rainmaker (Alternate)
    Open Your Window (Alternate)
    Postcard

Cuts off there pretty much as far as chronological order goes, some of the tracks here and there I couldn't verify the dates and guessed. It picks back up where the other box set rarities start again and so forth with studio albums in between. Anyone have any sessionography info to share?

:kilroy: In November of 1969, Nilsson copyrighted two songs, HER EYES and THE BOY FROM SUGARLOAF. I sure would like to know what the story is behind them. No demos of them by him exist that I know of, nor can I find any indication of somebody else ever recording them.

Where'd you find that info, if I might ask? Might help me out. I just have all of his 1969 stuff stuck together in track listing order.

Picking up after Harry and Nilsson Sings Newman I've got:

    Think About Your Troubles (Alternate)
    Marry Me A Little
    Me And My Arrow
    Everything's Got 'Em
    Down To The Valley
    Poli High
    Life Line
    Think About Your Troubles
    Gotta Get Up (Demo '70)
    I'll Never Leave You
    Joy (Alternate)
    Blackbird
    Paradise
    Lucille
    Early In The Morning (Alternate)
    Old Forgotten Soldier (Demo)
    Walk Right Back
    Isolation
    Gotta Get Up (Demo '71)
    Driving Along (Demo)
    I Want You (Demo)
    The Moonbeam Song (Demo)
    Down (Demo)
    Without You (Demo)
    Coconut (Demo)
    Joy (Guitar Demo)
    Joy (Piano Demo)
    Old Forgotten Soldier (Demo)

I may be completely or slightly off - I've got hardly any sources available.
