Yes, I highly recommend the 24/192 Dusty In Memphis off HDTracks. Best sounding release of that album by far I think. Many prefer the recently-released SACD, but I'm not a fan.

Sometimes the mono mix is definitive. But often I think it's just a matter of preference. Although I have to say, a lot (though not all) of early stereo is pretty crap, especially rock.

Pardon my asking, but what 15%..? I only see a 1o% discount...

    Thanks.

  3. HOLYFIELDHD -- unfortunately, it expired around twenty-five minutes before you posted that. I'm sure there will be a 10% off new releases for the S&G that'll last a few more days.

Interesting tactic to squeeze a few extra dollars out of the Simon & Garfunkel fans (only offering 24/192 at $24.98). It will be interesting to see if the other sites offer a less expensive 24/96 option. I for one will sit these out.

HDNOV24 for new releases, brings S&G down to 21.23, curious also why only 192

Stupid, IMHO, but then HDTracks doesn't usually ask for my opinion...

I'm very interested to hear the opinions on these Simon and Garfunkel albums.

Are these the original stereo mixes?

Does anyone know if the George Harrison set has more dynamic range than its CD counterpart?

I am also curious about this.

My outboard DAC only does 24/96, so I also will have to take a wait-and-see approach to this release.

Shocked that Harrison and S&G have been out for several hours WITH coupon and not one review. Come on guys, who's stepping up to the plate?

All 192/24 stuff is that price. Fine. I'll take the plunge on this one and report.

You'll have to do better than that, I'm still not convinced.

These are one set of hires remasters where I have absolutely no doubt they are going to sound amazing. Why? The original recordings were superb.

The new Springsteens sound utterly amazing too.

These new 192's are among the best examples of a high profile catalog being remastered in high resolution I have ever encountered.

Okay the review on Bridge Over Troubled Waters is... Buy the freakin thing! It sounds great. Makes all the extra stuff going on in songs like The Boxer make more sense musically. There's still that vocal reverb that they seemed to love that keeps you from really feeling like they're singing intimately just for you but it's way better, deeper and with more detail than any other version I've heard including the original album from when I was a kid

96/24 coming soon. The CDs are a true revelation...basically hearing them is like hearing them for the very first time.
