We're intelligent and independent and so are cats.

The warm sound of vinyl and the warm, soothing sound of cat purring.

You don't have to interrupt music to go outside and walk the cat.

I think you need to post a picture of the offending cat.

    He is pretty famous now.

This one destroyed my AT150MLX a couple years ago.

Thanks Aftermath, thinking that's inspired by how my heart broke the day I had to put her under!

haha! My cat went after dogs, and they ran! She was lucky to not run into any more spirited dogs!

We have two. Neither have shown any interest at all in the turntable. But at 15 and 6 they have clearly settled down a bit. Sitting on top of the warm power amps is another kettle of tuna though.

It's a nice warm bed from a cats point of view.

They can be darned awkward for certain. Nothing quite prepares you walking around in bare feet only to step on the mangled remains of a rodent or frog.

But they are lower maintenance than a dog, which is a pack animal who accepts a family of humans as its pack, with all the care that rightly involves. On the other hand a cat is a wild animal who chooses to live with you. It has a narrower range of needs than a dog - feed me, cuddle me, let me out/in, look at this mouse I've just caught, and then I'm going to sleep for 18 hours a day somewhere that is warm and safe - and that is about it.

But a kitten will destroy a house in short order, just like a human toddler does :D
